Agnes Claudine Gilbert

Custer City, Oklahoma

Agnes Claudine Gilbert was born to Earl and Ada Rosena Martin in Mcalister, OK., on August 9, 1939. She went to her heavenly home on August 16, 2025 at Seiling Hospital in Seiling, OK., She was 86 years old. Claudine went to school at McAlester, Ok., until tenth grade when she fell ill and could not finish school. She married in 1957 and had two children, Tammy Kay Mathis and Claude Edward Adams.  She went back to shcool to finish her high school diploma and continued her education with a few classes at Eastern Oklahoma State College. She worked in the nursing field for several years.  She later met and married John Gilbert on June 3, 1978.  They made their home in Casper, Wyoming until John's death in November 2020.  Claudine moved back to Oklahoma at the beginning of 2021.  She enjoyed an active social life with Thomas Senior Citizen's and Young at Heart playing dominoes several times a week.  She faithfully attended Custer City First Baptist Church and helped in the kitchen with Sunday cinnamon rolls and coffee.  She is survived by her daughter, Tammy Kay Mathis and husband Stan, and their son Claude Edward Adams: five grandchildren, Levi Mathis and wife Lauren, Micah Light and husband Caleb, and Asher Reed and husband, Dalton, Benjamyn Adams and wife Jessica, and Myles Adams and wife Lauren, ten great grandchildren Selah, Jamin, Jordan, Rosie,  and Kyler Mathis , Kaladin Light, Japheth, Arrow, and Scout Reed, and Lorelai Adams.  Agnes had a private family burial and will have a memorial service to be annouced at a later time.  Services were under the direction of the Lee Hometown Funeral Home.
