Albert Herbert Korfman was born January 8, 1930 to Fred and Clara (Matthes) Korfman at the family home near Anthon, Oklahoma. Albert attended Anthon schools the first 8 years and then moved in with his sister Eva and her husband D.H. and attended school at Arapaho for one year. He eventually moved back home to help his mother with the farming until he started working at various jobs in Clinton. He worked as a dishwasher, helped deliver furniture, drove the school bus for Independence Schools and worked at a produce warehouse. He met his future wife Anna Barber through a mutual friend Wayne Dickerson (he was dating Anna’s sister Nathlyn). Their first date was a trip to the state fair. They got married April 2, 1950. Of that marriage three children were born, Sheryl Carver of Guymon, Ok; Larry Korfman of Weatherford, OK and Alberta Bentley of Edmond, OK. They were married 43 years until her passing in May of 1993.
Albert and Anna then moved back to the family farm and began his lifelong career of farming. They moved east of Clinton for a short time and then back to the farm northwest of Custer City where he resided until August of 2023 when he moved to Homestead Assisted Living in Weatherford OK.
In March of 1994 he married Linda Nelson. They were married until her passing in January of 2005. Albert continued to farm until his kids decided it was time for him to retire in April of 2022.
Albert loved animals, especially his dogs and cats. For some reason he liked the name Buddy and had 2 or 3 dogs named that. He also had 2 house cats and another one he fed daily down at his sister’s house.
Albert attended church at Vicksburg Church until it’s closing. He then attended church at Custer United Methodist Church and later at Arapaho Baptist Church.
For anyone who knew Albert, he was a talker. If you got on the phone with him, be prepared to be on there at least 2 hours or more. He was always willing to help his neighbors and was a friend to all.
He is preceded in death by his parents, six siblings, Lizzie Smith, Pauline Fischer, Eva Cordes, Willie Korfman, Herman Korfman and Alma Littke, his wife Anna, second wife Linda and two son in laws, Bob Carver and Jimmie Bentley.
He is survived by his three children Sheryl, Larry and wife Anita, and Alberta. His grandchildren Ranelle Carter and husband Steve, Amy Walker and husband Jeff, Julie Covey and husband Burke, Monty Bentley and wife Paige, Lindsay Bruce and husband Kyle, Denise Pearcy and husband Terry, David Bowman and wife Tina, Stacy Brawdy and husband Jason. 27 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces and friends.
