Anita Sue (Tyson) Crawford, age 73, of Fort Cobb, Oklahoma, was born December 28, 1952, in Oceanside, California, to Frances Hudson, and passed away in Oklahoma City on Wednesday, February 11, 2026.
As a young child in 1953, Anita was adopted by Lloid and Geraldine Tyson, who lovingly raised her and provided a wonderful home. She was raised in Sayre and graduated from Sayre High School in 1971. During her high school years, Anita excelled in basketball. She was a proud member of the Sayre Lady Eagles basketball team that won back-to-back state championships in 1970 and 1971. Following high school, she continued her education and earned her degree from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford.
Anita was raised and baptized in the Church of Christ. She was an active member of the Genealogy Center in Weatherford and most recently served as President of the Resident Council at Corn Heritage Village in Corn.
On December 2, 1974, she married the love of her life, Gerald Crawford, in Canadian, Texas. Anita worked briefly in the oilfield industry but devoted most of her life to being a loving homemaker and caring for her family.
She had a passion for genealogy and enjoyed attending NASCAR races with her good friend Laura McCormick. Anita also loved going to concerts and visiting the casino. She was ornery in the best way—truly one of a kind. She was known for signing “I love you” with her hands and always telling her family, “I love you more,” whenever they told her they loved her.
She was preceded in death by her biological mother, Frances Kelley; her parents, Lloid and Geraldine Tyson; her husband, Gerald Crawford; her brother, Jessie Kelley; her sister, Gwenda Hudson; and her granddaughter, Faith Ritz.
Anita is survived by her daughters, Cheryl Marion and husband Brent of Neosho, Missouri, and Lori Ritz and husband Todd of Edmond , son Gerald Crawford II and his wife Dana of Fort Cobb; her sisters, Jana Beck of Holdenville, Janice Miller of Elk City, and Dedra Kelley of Altus; her brothers, Bill Moore of New Jersey, Allen Kelley of Elk City, Carey Bradley of Oklahoma City, and Mike Kelley of Canute; her grandchildren, Gerald Crawford III and Jayla, Andrew Marion, Tori Ritz, Crew Crawford and wife Breanna, Rylee Marion, Caden Wyatt, Terin Ritz, Tyson Ritz, Luke Marion, and Paige Wyatt; her great-grandchildren, Presly Crawford, Kyler Crawford, and Rowan Crawford, with one great-grandchild on the way; and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at Greenlawn Cemetery in Weatherford, under the direction of Lee Hometown Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for visitation from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at the funeral home.
