Armando Aviles Sr., of Clinton, passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2025, in Oklahoma City at the age of 69. He was born August 27, 1955, in Durango, Mexico, to Martha Emma Aviles.
Armando was raised in Durango and at the age of 24, in 1979, he moved to the United States to begin a new chapter in life. He later married the love of his life, Esperanza Frayde, in March of 1983. Together they built a home and raised a family in Clinton, Oklahoma.
He was a hardworking man who spent his life providing for his family, working at several area businesses over the years including the Clinton Cotton Gin, Collins and Aikman, Doane’s Pet Care, Janesville Products in Burns Flat, Baker Hughes, Halliburton, and most recently Bar-S Foods, where he remained until his retirement.
Armando was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and lived his life with quiet strength and enduring faith. He loved visiting the casino, relaxing with a good movie, and most of all, spending time with his grandchildren. He took great joy in attending their sporting events and cheering them on from the sidelines.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Martha Emma Aviles, who passed when he was a young child; the grandmother who raised him, Elena Duenes; his beloved wife, Esperanza Aviles; his sister, Guadalupe Aguirre Aviles; and his son-in-law, Kip Ringo.
Left to cherish his memory are his son, Armando Aviles Jr. and Marisela of Clinton; his daughters, Vanessa Ringo and her partner Landry Howell, Brenda Aviles all of Clinton; his sister, Maria Elena Martinez Aviles of Durango, Mexico; his brother, Andres Aviles and wife Maria of Rolling Meadows, Illinois; and his treasured grandchildren, Sebastian Ringo and Armando Manuel Aviles, Lindsey Hernandez, and Hailey Hernandez all of Clinton, nieces Martha Aviles of Texas, Ingrid Aviles of Illinois, and nephew Andres Aviles Jr. also of Illinois.
Funeral services for Mr. Aviles will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 25, 2025, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Clinton. Burial will follow at the Clinton Cemetery under the direction of the Lee Hometown Funeral Home.
