Carol Jo McGoffin

Carol Jo McGoffin, age 71, of Clinton, passed away early Thursday, October 30, 2025, at Corn Heritage Village in Weatherford. She was born February 16, 1954, in California to Glen and Lois (Turrentine) Kochenhower.
Carol was raised in Kingfisher and graduated from Kingfisher High School with the Class of 1972. She attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford and later furthered her education at Western Technology Center, where she studied Business and Computers. Carol was a longtime member of the First Christian Church and devoted much of her life to helping others.
Over the years, she worked for several local businesses, including Kelwood, Grace Living Center, and Integris Clinton Regional Hospital, where she was known for her kindness, strong work ethic, and compassion for those around her.
On January 19, 1971, she married the love of her life, Dennis McGoffin, in Kingfisher, and together they built a life centered on faith, family, and love.
Carol had a heart for family and was happiest when surrounded by those she loved. She enjoyed researching her family genealogy, crocheting, doing puzzles, and watching her grandchildren play sports. She cherished time spent with her family, whether helping with her grandkids, listening to music, or enjoying casino trips with her sisters. Carol’s caring nature shined brightest when she spent five years living in Missouri to care for her mother when her health began to decline—a true example of her selfless love.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Lois Kochenhower; her beloved husband, Dennis McGoffin; an infant daughter, Baby Girl McGoffin; brothers-in-law, Morris Brisco and Pete McGoffin; sister-in-law, Shirley McGoffin; and nephew, Matthew Brisco, her in-laws Frank and Genevieve McGoffin.
Survivors include her son, Joshua McGoffin of Clinton; her daughter, Kristen Waldrop and husband Jonathan of Arapaho; her sisters, Virginia Brisco of Kinston, North Carolina, Barbara Brunette and husband Tony of Oklahoma City, and Michelle Wingo and husband Justin of Carl Junction, Missouri; and three cherished grandchildren, Bradley McGoffin of Corn, and Wyatt and Kaden Waldrop of Arapaho her in-laws Debra Daggs, Steven McGoffin, Kevin McGoffin all of Arapaho, Gilbert and Ryda McGoffin of Elk City, Angela Persyn and her husband Mike of Wichita, Kansas, and many nieces, nephews, and other family members.
Funeral Services for Carol McGoffin will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at the Hyman Memorial Chapel located in the Lee Hometown Funeral Home, with Hal Penner officiating. Burial will follow at Anthon Cemetery under the direction of Lee Hometown Funeral Home of Clinton.
