Celestino “Jesse” Flores, age 72, lifetime Butler resident, was born April 6, 1953, in Edinburg, Texas, to Virginio and Leonarda (Gonzales) Flores, and passed away at his Butler home on Friday, January 30, 2026.
Jesse was raised in Butler and attended Butler Schools. He devoted 42 years of faithful service to Custer County District 3 out of Butler, where he was known as a hardworking and dependable employee and a friend to many.
Jesse enjoyed fishing, playing pool, and spending time with his family, but his favorite pastime was visiting the casinos. He was always happy, smiling, and joking around, and his lighthearted spirit and laughter will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Virginio and Leonarda Flores; his sister, Ageda Lara; and his niece, Leona Camacho.
Jesse is survived by his sisters, Virginia Olivarez of Oklahoma City and Nativida Calixto of Clinton; his brother-in-law, Miguel Lara of Clinton; his brother, Cesario Flores, Sr. of Oklahoma City; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, February 6, 2026, in the Hyman Memorial Chapel at Lee Hometown Funeral Home, officiated by deacon Jose Martinez of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Butler Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Lee Hometown Funeral Home.
