Clinton Daniel Caler

April 19, 1942 — May 5, 2026

Custer City

Clinton Daniel Caler, 84, lifelong resident of the Custer City community, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of May 5, 2026, at Clinton Regional Hospital. He was born April 19, 1942, in rural Custer County, Oklahoma, to Rupert and Stella (Kress) Caler.

Clinton was raised in Custer City and proudly graduated from Custer City High School. Faith was a cornerstone of his life, and he was a devoted member of the First Christian Church in Custer City, where his love for God was evident to all who knew him.

He honorably served his country in the United States Air Force, a chapter of his life he held with great pride. Following his military service, Clinton moved to Arkansas, where he worked for Butterball at a turkey processing plant for several years. Eventually, he returned home to Custer City, where he spent the remainder of his life surrounded by family, friends, and the community he cherished.

Clinton had a deep love for fishing and was known for his storytelling—especially when it came to his fishing adventures. More than anything, he enjoyed visiting with people. His home was always open, and no guest ever left without being offered a cup of coffee or something to eat. He had a genuine gift for making others feel welcome, and his greatest joy was simply spending time in conversation and fellowship.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rupert and Stella Caler; three sisters, Dorothy Denker, Virginia Caler, and Linda Joyce Ray; and one brother, Frank Caler.

Clinton is survived by his three brothers, Tom Caler and wife Linda of Yukon, Oklahoma; Raymond Caler and wife Edie of Springfield, Missouri; and Cecil Caler of Booker, Texas; as well as a special niece, Loretta Foust and husband Darin of Custer City. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends who will miss him dearly.

Honoring his wishes, Clinton will be laid to rest beside his mother in the Custer City Masonic Cemetery.

Services are under the direction of Lee Hometown Funeral Home.
