Funeral Services for Curtis “Curt” Walker, 82, longtime Custer County farmer and rancher, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 20, 2026, in the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, officiated by Robin Palasano, Jerick Johnson, and Jeremy Shepherd. Burial will follow in the Butler Cemetery under the direction of the Lee Hometown Funeral Home.
The family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at the Lee Hometown Funeral Home.
Curtis Dean Walker was born March 12, 1944, to Curtis Leon Walker and Loretta (Sharp) Walker in Clinton, Oklahoma, and passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2026, in Butler, Oklahoma, as the result of a farming accident.
Curt was raised in Butler and graduated from Butler High School in 1962. During his school years, he excelled in basketball and baseball and was active in FFA. Following graduation, he attended Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in animal science and was a proud member of the AGR Fraternity.
He later served seven years in the United States Army Reserve.
Curt married Judy Johnson on February 27, 1971, at her parents’ home in Butler. Together they built a life rooted in faith, family, and agriculture while raising their three daughters.
Farming and ranching were never simply a career to Curt — they were his life’s passion. He spent his entire life working on the land in the Butler area, doing what he loved most. Known for his strong work ethic, quiet generosity, and dedication to his community, Curt leaves behind a legacy that will long be remembered by those who knew him.
He was a member of the Butler Baptist Church and faithfully served his community through numerous organizations, including the Great Western Cattle Trail Association, the Butler Round-Up Club, Butler Co-op Board and the Kiwash Electric Board. He was an avid Cowboy History fan and had made many friends across the states.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Judy; his son, Ernie Walker; his sister, Marva Dupree; his brother-in-law, Darrell Dupree; and his niece, Darla Kinney.
Survivors include his three daughters, Lori Adams and husband Greg of Clinton, Dori Fansler and husband Matt of Weatherford, and Tori Shepherd and husband Jeremy of Butler; nine grandchildren, Conley Adams and wife Kiley of Covington, Louisiana, Colten Adams of Clinton, Ansley Butler, Yukon Butler and Walker Fansler, both of Weatherford, and Rylen Outhouse, Tatum Outhouse, Amy Jo Shepherd, and Dacy Shepherd, all of Butler; sister-in-law, Jan Parker and husband Johnny of Butler; brother-in-law, Rick Johnson and wife Bev of Butler; along with numerous extended family members and dear friends who will cherish his memory.
He will be missed by many other family, friends and neighbors.
