Edward Cleo Dodd, age 74, of Hobart, Oklahoma, was born November 17, 1950, in Plainview, Texas, to Daniel William and Lavanda Lois (Martin) Dodd, and passed away Thursday, October 2, 2025, in Oklahoma City.
Edward was raised mostly in Roswell, New Mexico, and also spent part of his youth in Clinton, Oklahoma. He graduated from Goddard High School in Roswell with the Class of 1968. In 1971, he married the love of his life, JoAnn (Hobbs), in Roswell, and together they built a loving family and many memories.
A longtime member of Bethel 911 in Rocky, Edward worked as a cross-country truck driver and enjoyed life on the road. Away from work, he loved fishing, riding motorcycles, horseback riding, and traveling. He was known for being an excellent storyteller, and those who knew him best will always remember his love of spicy food and fried rice.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Lavanda Dodd; his wife, JoAnn; and a granddaughter, Chieann Scarborough.
Edward is survived by his son, Edward Joseph Dodd and wife Sonia Beth of Hobart; his daughter, Teffany Scarborough and husband Martin of Burns Flat; his sister, Elizabeth Audine of Portales, New Mexico; his brother, Daniel Leo Dodd of Roswell, New Mexico; and two granddaughters, along with numerous other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, October 6, 2025, at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Fritch, Texas. Services are under the direction of Lee Hometown Funeral Home of Clinton. A viewing will be at the funeral home Sunday, October 5, 2025 from 1PM to 8PM.
