Eldon “Kurt” Gregg, age 78, of Yukon and longtime Clinton resident, was born March 19, 1947, in Elk City, Oklahoma, to Harry Crayton and Irma (Green) Gregg, and passed away Saturday, December 20, 2025, in Edmond, Oklahoma.
Kurt was raised in Hydro until his early teenage years, when the family farm was sold and the family moved to the city. He later attended Piedmont High School, graduating in 1966 as one of just twelve seniors, a distinction he always remembered with pride.
Following high school, Kurt proudly served his country in the United States Army. During his three years of service, he was stationed in Korea and Germany and was honorably discharged. His service remained an important part of his life and character.
On September 8, 1973, Kurt married the love of his life, Trish Weber, at the First Baptist Church in Okeene, Oklahoma. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, service, and community.
Using his G.I. Bill, Kurt earned a degree in Industrial Arts from Southwestern Oklahoma State College. He spent nearly 25 years working at the 3M Factory in Weatherford, remaining a loyal and dependable employee through several company name changes. Known for his strong work ethic, Kurt frequently volunteered for extra duties and was always willing to help his coworkers in any way he could.
After retiring from 3M, Kurt continued working, first at the SWOSU Student Union and later in the produce department at United Grocery in Weatherford. He found joy in staying busy and contributing wherever he was needed.
Kurt was a devoted man of faith. While living in Clinton, he was a member of First Baptist Church, and he later became an active and dedicated member of Bethel Mennonite Church in Hydro. He and Trish faithfully taught second-grade Sunday School and were deeply involved in church life. Kurt was also a proud and longtime blood donor, quietly serving others through this important commitment.
In his personal life, Kurt enjoyed genealogy, western television shows, movies, and books. He loved driving and exploring new places, spending time outdoors, fishing and camping with his children when they were young. Woodworking was a passion, and he took great pride in making furniture for his children and family. He also loved gardening and caring for the land. As the youngest of five boys, family always held a special place in his heart.
Kurt and Trish enjoyed traveling together, often taking Christian bus tours with the Kaleo group, visiting destinations such as Mount Rushmore, Canada, Washington, D.C., and many others.
He was preceded in death by both parents Harry Crayton and Irma Greg, his son Kyle Gregg, three brothers Leon Gregg, Richard Gregg, and Phillip Gregg.
He is survived by his wife Trish Gregg of the home, his son Kevin Gregg of Oklahoma City, his daughter Kay Gregg of Gladstone, Oregon, his brother Jay Gregg and his wife Dot of Dallas, Texas, and his grandog Daisey.
Funeral services will be held 9:30 A.M. Saturday, December 27, 2025, at Bethel Mennonite Church in Hydro, Oklahoma, with Steve Entz officiating. Burial will follow in the Clinton City Cemetery under the direction of Lee Hometown Funeral Home.
