Eugene Bearhead Jr.

Eugene Bearhead Jr., age 77, Clinton resident, was born November 30, 1948, in Clinton, Oklahoma, to Eugene Sr. and Erma (Calf) Bearhead. He passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at his home in Clinton.

Eugene was raised in Clinton and attended Concho and Chilocco Indian Schools. He was a member of the Clinton Indian Baptist Church and was a familiar face in the community. He worked for Bar-S Foods for many years before retiring in 2013.

Eugene enjoyed the simple things in life and especially treasured time spent with his family. He loved watching old black-and-white cowboy movies and Gunsmoke, attending powwows, and going to church. He looked forward to going out for breakfast and searching through garage sales with his sister, Viola. Above all, Eugene loved spending time with his grandchildren and family. He was especially fond of his daughter Nova’s fry bread and Indian tacos.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene Sr. and Erma Bearhead; his sisters, Mary Ann Bearhead and Betty Bearhead; his brothers, Mark Bearhead and Arnold Bearhead; and his nephews, Marvin Hines and Joshua Hines.

Eugene is survived by his daughters, Nova Washa of Clinton, KC Warledo of Weatherford, Alexis Warledo of Clinton, and Ashley Warledo and her companion, Joseph Herrera, of Weatherford; his sister, Viola Hines of Clinton; 16 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.

A traditional wake will be held from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM Thursday, September 10, 2026, at the Clinton Indian Baptist Church.

Funeral services for Eugene will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, September 11, 2026, at the Clinton ERC Building, with Gerald Panana officiating. Burial will follow in the Clinton Cemetery.

Services are under the direction of the Lee Hometown Funeral Home.
