Gay Lee Patterson
Funeral services for Gay Lee Patterson, 75-year-old Clinton resident, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 26, 2026, in the Hyman Chapel of the Lee Hometown Funeral Home.
Gay Lee (Terrell) Patterson was born September 21, 1950, in Clinton, Oklahoma, to Clarence and Hellen (Preston) Terrell. She passed away Saturday, March 22, 2026, at River Valley Nursing Home.
Gay was raised in Arapaho, Oklahoma, where she attended school. She was first married to Edwin Lee in 1966 in Arapaho, and they made their home in Clinton. During that time, Gay worked for Holiday Inn in the housekeeping department for many years. She later married Johnny Patterson in Weatherford, Oklahoma, where they made their home. While in Weatherford, she worked in food service at the Oklahoma State University Student Union.
Gay was a member of the Arapaho Baptist Church and spent many hours reading her Bible. She loved music, dancing, paint-by-number art, and cooking. She enjoyed the simple things in life—going on walks, driving in the country, sightseeing, and watching others succeed.
Gay was known as a prankster and was very outspoken. She loved to laugh and often surprised others with her humor. She never spoke badly of others and always tried to see the good in everyone.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Patterson; three brothers, Leonard, Larry, and C.W. Terrell; and three sisters, Margie Terrell, Elaine Rogers, and Ellen Beth Terrell.
She is survived by her daughter, Ronda Coleman and husband Jeff of Palm City, Florida; granddaughter, Courtney Coleman-Petrie and husband James; and three great-grandchildren, Harlan, Wylie, and Ruth, all of Palm City, Florida.
She is also survived by two sisters, Diane Sheehan and Michael Curtis of Custer City, Oklahoma, and Mary Ann Fouquet and husband Joe of Weatherford, Oklahoma; and two brothers, Melvin Terrell and wife Sharon of Custer City, Oklahoma, and Jimmy Dale Terrell of Clinton, Oklahoma.
