Geraldine Marie Ward
Geraldine Marie Ward, age 65, of Clinton, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, June 8, 2026. She was born October 5, 1960, in La Puente, California, to Augustina (Segovia) Valdez.
Geraldine spent her early years in the Los Angeles, California, and Santa Fe, New Mexico, areas. She graduated from Santa Fe High School in 1978 and later attended community college. The values of family, friendship, and resilience that she developed during those years remained with her throughout her life.
She married the love of her life, Mack Ward II, in Santa Fe, New Mexico on December 2, 1982, and together they built a family centered on love and devotion. In 1994, Geraldine made Clinton her home, where she established deep roots and formed many lasting friendships within the community.
Geraldine was known for her warm spirit and her ability to find joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved music and could often be found listening to her favorite songs. She enjoyed people-watching, always finding fascination in the stories and personalities around her. She was an enthusiastic Bingo player and enjoyed trying her luck at slot machine games, activities that brought her both excitement and opportunities to spend time with family and friends.
More than anything, Geraldine treasured her family. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her greatest happiness came from watching her family grow and celebrating their accomplishments. She created countless memories through her love, encouragement, and unwavering support, leaving a legacy that will continue through the generations she cherished so deeply.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Augustina Valdez; and her sisters, Rayline Valdez and Delores Napier.
Geraldine is survived by her daughters, Latisha Cabaniss and husband Jesse of Clinton, and Keshia Ward of Clinton; her grandchildren, Bryce Ward of Clinton, Kaden Cabaniss of Oklahoma City and Andres Balderas, Desiree Ward both of Clinton, Arieanna Peters of Clinton, and Ricardo Rodriguez of Clinton; Jasmine Rodriguez, Adan Rodriguez, Alberto Rodriguez, and Carlos Rodriguez, all of Oklahoma, along with numerous extended family members and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, June 11, 2026, at Clinton Cemetery, with Father Balaswamy officiating. Services are under the direction of Lee Hometown Funeral Home.
Though her earthly journey has ended, Geraldine's love, kindness, and dedication to her family will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
