Harold Clayton Aylett, age 86, longtime Enid resident, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Friday, May 15, 2026, at Clinton River Valley Nursing Facility. He was born on May 16, 1939, in Buffalo, New York, to Gordon and Cynthia (Dute) Aylett.

Harold lived a life marked by service, devotion to family, and a deep appreciation for the outdoors. A proud United States Marine, he served his country honorably and carried that sense of dedication and discipline throughout his life.

In 1965, he married the love of his life, Thelma (Sims) Aylett, and together they built a loving life centered around family and shared adventures. Harold worked as an office supervisor for many years, earning the respect of coworkers and friends alike through his strong work ethic and steady leadership.

Outside of work, Harold truly enjoyed life’s simple pleasures. He had a passion for scuba diving and loved spending time outdoors whenever possible. One of his greatest joys was his farm near Enid, Oklahoma. Though he did not actively farm the land, he cherished every opportunity to spend time there, enjoying the peace and beauty of the countryside he loved so dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Cynthia Aylett, and by his beloved wife, Thelma Aylett.

Harold is survived by his two daughters, Pamela Zellers and husband Steve of Prattville, Alabama, and Diane Fregeau and husband Robert of Corona, California, six grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. He also leaves behind family and friends who will remember him for his quiet strength, adventurous spirit, and unwavering love for those closest to him.

In honoring Harold’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Services are under the direction of Lee Hometown Funeral Home.
