Homer James Webster

Thomas, Oklahoma

Homer James Webster, age 66, of Thomas, Oklahoma, was born September 30, 1960, in Hicksville, Ohio, to Homer Sr. and Gertrude (Basler) Webster, and passed away Sunday, October 18, 2026, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Homer spent much of his childhood moving from place to place as his family traveled and made their home in different communities. Growing up this way taught him to adapt to new surroundings and helped shape the hardworking, independent man he would become.

At just 17 years old, Homer began what would become a lifelong career in the oilfield industry. He was so young when he started that his mother had to sign a release form allowing him to go to work. That early start was a testament to his determination and strong work ethic. Homer dedicated more than four decades of his life to the oilfield, working hard to provide for his family until health issues forced him to retire in 2021.

On February 28, 2004, Homer married the love of his life, Jamie (Pittman), in Louisiana. Together, they built a life centered around love, family, and the simple things that brought them happiness. Through the years, they shared countless memories and devoted much of their time to helping raise their grandchildren.

Homer was a man who enjoyed life's simple pleasures. He loved going fishing, collecting pocket knives, and listening to just about every kind of music. He had a special place in his heart for animals and children, and nothing brought him more happiness than being surrounded by his grandchildren.

One of Homer's little quirks that his family will always remember was his love for keeping his floors clean. He took great pride in having them spotless, and it was just one of those things that made Homer who he was.

Above everything else, Homer was a family man. He and Jamie lovingly helped raise 12 of their grandchildren, providing them with a home filled with love, guidance, and countless memories. He treasured the time he spent with each of them, whether they were fishing, visiting, laughing, or simply enjoying one another's company. His grandchildren held a special place in his heart, and the love he had for them was evident in everything he did.

Homer will be remembered as a hardworking man with a loving heart, someone who spent much of his life providing for those he loved and finding joy in the little things. His dedication to his family, his love for children and animals, and the memories he created will forever be treasured by those who knew him best.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer Sr. and Gertrude Webster; his brother, William Webster; and his son-in-law, Ernest Brown.

Homer is survived by his loving wife, Jamie Webster, of the home; his son, Justin Ogletree of Grove, Oklahoma; his daughters, Amber Webster-Rymer and her husband Nick of Hampton, Virginia, Jenna Brown of Thomas, and Jasmine Ogletree of Thomas; his sisters, Mary Lofton and her husband Clyde of Minden, Louisiana, and Ellen Martin and her husband Cid of Tulsa; and his brother, Jeff Shrum.

He is also survived by his 14 beloved grandchildren, Devin Brown, Shaylynn Brown, Karlee Brown, Stormy Sauer, Autumn Sauer, Joby Ogletree, Dominic Brown, Makinna Croslin, Claretta Croslin, Raiden Ogletree, River Ogletree, Jaxon White, Bonnie White, and Brooklynn Morris, along with other extended family members and many dear friends.

Funeral services for Homer James Webster will be announced once arrangements have been finalized. Services are under the direction of Lee Hometown Funeral Home in Clinton, Oklahoma.

Homer's life was one of hard work, dedication, and love for his family. Although he will be deeply missed, the memories he made and the love he shared will continue to live on in the hearts of his family for generations to come.
