Imogene M. Davis

March 28, 1942 – October 30, 2025

Imogene M. Davis was born March 28, 1942, in rural Garvin County to William Anderson

“Ance” and Zola Dovie (Jones) Hall. She was received peacefully into the arms of her

heavenly Father on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at Integris Hospice House in Oklahoma

City with her family by her side.

“Imo” as she was affectionately known, was raised in the country between Pauls Valley and

Wynnewood. She attended Liberty Country school through the eighth grade before

attending Wynnewood High School, graduating as valedictorian of the class of 1960. She

began working at the Greyhound Bus station in Pauls Valley where she met her future

husband, Dale Davis, when he would come to the bus station to pick up parts for the local

Ford dealership.

On August 18, 1961, she and Dale married at her mother’s home in Pauls Valley and

shortly after their marriage they moved to Carnegie, OK and then Cordell, OK where Dale

worked at the local Ford dealerships. One year later, they welcomed a son, David, into the

family. A couple of years later, they moved to Clinton and, as David requested, got a baby

sister for Christmas when they welcomed DeAnna into the family. After a brief stint in Del

City, Oklahoma, they moved back to Clinton in 1968 and remained in the family home for

57 years.

A homemaker for most of her life, Imogene briefly worked at the Kellwood plant in Clinton

in the early 1970s. During her children’s school years, she was often the “band mom”

along with her best friend, Mary Sue Madden, on many band trips to marching contests,

district tryouts, and solo contests. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren,

doing crossword puzzles, reading, clipping cartoons to send to the grandchildren, walking

and playing bingo with Mary Sue. She and Dale could often be found having dinner and

playing cards with Rex and Mary Sue. After Dale’s retirement, she enjoyed traveling

around the country with her sister and brother-in-law, Mary Jane and Carl Lyon. She also

treasured the times when a “Sisters Weekend” happened - Mary Jane, Carl, sister JoAnn

and brother-in-law Sonny would meet at a cabin and just enjoy each other’s company.

Lastly, she was most proud of the five outstanding young men – Tucker, William, Sam,

Nathan, and Myles - that she helped care for.

She was preceded in death by her parents, W.A. and Zola Hall; brothers-in-law, Carl Lyon

and Joe Davis; sisters-in-law, Sarah Allen, Marilyn Springer, Juanita Davis; her in-laws Ed

and Alva Davis; and a step-grandson; Aaron Haugh.

Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Dale Davis of Clinton; her son David Davis and

wife Carol of Clinton; her daughter, DeAnna Haugh of Tulsa; her grandchildren, Tucker

Davis and wife Megan of Austin, TX, William Davis of Carrboro, NC, Sam Davis and wife
