John “Jason” Cabaniss
John “Jason” Cabaniss, longtime Clinton resident, went to be with the Lord on August 5, 2025, after a lengthy battle with his health. He was 52 years old.
Jason, as most knew him, was born October 3, 1972, in Harrison, Arkansas, to Jon and Corene Cabaniss. He graduated from Clinton High School in 1990 and went on to attend Phillips University. Though he spent some time traveling for work in his younger years, Clinton was always home.
A man of many talents and interests, Jason was an avid pool player, a gifted musician, and an artist. He had a knack for woodworking and enjoyed grilling, archery, and spending time with family. His kind nature, generous spirit, and willingness to help others made a lasting impact on everyone who knew him—there truly wasn’t a mean bone in his body.
Jason is survived by his siblings: Jeffrey Cabaniss and wife Susan of Marston, Missouri; Steve Cabaniss of Clinton; John Bryan Cabaniss and wife of Benton, Missouri; Cathy Woodard and husband Rick of Leedey, Oklahoma; and Cindy Savoie and husband Jody of Clinton. He also leaves behind several aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of nieces and nephews whom he loved as his own.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jon and Corene Cabaniss, and both sets of grandparents.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 11, 2025, at the Clinton Cemetery, with Doyle Kinney officiating. Services are under the direction of Lee Hometown Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to your favorite nonprofit organization in Jason’s memory.
