John Alan Marker

John Alan Marker, age 61, of Oklahoma City, was born January 12, 1965, in Laverne, Oklahoma, to John Louis and Rosella (Ware) Marker. He passed away September 29, 2026, in Oklahoma City.

John was raised in Laverne, where he attended school and graduated from Laverne High School in 1984. He spent much of his working life as a landscaper and also worked from time to time in the oilfield.

Working outdoors suited John well. He took pride in landscaping and especially enjoyed working in the yard and tending to flower beds. Whether it was part of his work or simply something he was doing around the house, John enjoyed seeing a yard come together and appreciated the results of a good day's work.

John also enjoyed life's simple pleasures. He loved his coffee and could often be found watching sports on television. He was a loyal fan of the Oklahoma Sooners and the Denver Broncos and enjoyed following his teams whenever they played.

John was preceded in death by his parents, John Louis and Rosella Marker.

He is survived by his daughter, Jessica Rose Spaulding of Joplin, Missouri, as well as other relatives and friends.

In accordance with John's wishes, he will be cremated. Arrangements are under the direction of the Lee Hometown Funeral Home.
