Jonathan Duwayne McNeil

Jonathan Duwayne McNeil, age 49, of Arapaho, Oklahoma, was born April 9, 1977, in Clinton to Michael Duwayne and Linda Sue (Lorett) McNeil. He passed away Monday, September 14, 2026, at his home in Arapaho.

Jonathan was raised in Arapaho and attended Arapaho Schools.

For many years, Jonathan was a familiar face in the community through his work at O'Reilly Auto Parts. He was very knowledgeable about automobiles and auto parts and enjoyed using that knowledge to help customers find exactly what they needed. Over the years, he came to know many people through his work and was always willing to lend a hand or share what he knew.

He was a lifelong and devoted Oklahoma Sooners fan and proudly cheered on his team through every sport and every season. Jonathon also cherished his collection of automobile and Harley-Davidson memorabilia.

Jonathan had a creative spirit and a great appreciation for art. He especially enjoyed the rich storytelling and vibrant worlds found in anime and video games. In his quieter moments, he enjoyed watching movies and listening to music, including Christian, country, and pop.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Raymond and Pauline McNeil; maternal grandparents, James T. Lorett and Lenora Morrow; his father, Michael D. McNeil; and his niece, Charis McNeil.

Jonathan is survived by his mother, Linda McNeil of Arapaho; his older brother, Michael A. McNeil and wife Michelle of Forney, Texas, along with their three sons, Duwayne McNeil, Bryan McNeil, and Aaron Lucas of Lexington, Kentucky; and his brother, Brad McNeil and wife Charity of Pawhuska, Oklahoma.

He is also survived by Brad and Charity's children and their families: Josia McNeil and wife Haley and their son, Tyrin, of Joplin, Missouri; Anna York and husband Ryan and their son, Wyatt York, of Stonewall, Oklahoma; Sara McNeil and daughter, Charis Petty, of Pawhuska; Leah Soukup and husband Quinn of Oklahoma City; and Micah McNeil of Joplin, Missouri.

Funeral services for Jonathan will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, September 18, 2026, in the Hyman Memorial Chapel, located in the Lee Hometown Funeral Home, with Dev Brill officiating. Burial will follow in the Reydon Cemetery under the direction of the Lee Hometown Funeral Home.
