Funeral Services for Joyce Lee Bullcoming (Ah’me yo uh’), age 62, of Elk City, will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at the Hammon ERC Building in Hammon. Officiating will be Pastors Elfred “Bunny” Whitecrow and Gerald Panana. Burial will follow at the Hammon Bethel (Indian) Mennonite Cemetery under the direction of Lee Hometown Funeral Home.
A traditional all-night wake service will begin at 7:00 P.M. on Monday, June 2, also at the Hammon ERC Building.
Joyce Lee Bullcoming (Ah’me yo uh’), meaning “Walks Long Ways,” was born on July 2, 1962, in Elk City to Donald LeRoy Bullcoming Sr. and Esther (Miles) Seger. She passed away at her home on Wednesday, May 8, 2025, at 1:00 P.M.
Joyce was raised in Seiling and Hammon and attended the Institute Southern Plains School. She worked at Sonic and later at the Collins & Aikman Carpet Factory in Clinton. She eventually moved to Elk City, where she worked as a CNA at Elkview, obtained her CNA certification at Bell Avenue, and later earned her CMA license. Joyce continued her career serving her community as a CHR for the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes.
She was a faithful member of the Indian Mennonite Church and the Native American Church. Joyce enjoyed attending pow-wows, traditional dances, playing BINGO, and visiting the casino.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother John Homer Seger Jr., Sister Donna Marie Bullcoming, Juanita “Skeeter” Trout.
She is survived by her two daughters Anna Marie Griffin and her husband William, of Elk City, Francine Bullcoming and her husband Sergio Flores of Elk City, adopted son David Griffin of Clinton, granddaughter Neosha Bullcoming and great granddaughter Koralynn Espinoza of Oklahoma City, Five brothers Tommy Bullcoming of Elk City, Wilbur Bullcoming and his wife Ewina of Hammon, Donald Bullcoming Jr. of Seiling, Ronald Bullcoming and his wife Shawna of San Juan Pueblo, New Mexico, Solomon Bullcoming and his wife Lariet of Farmington, New Mexico, three sisters Frances Bullcoming, Kathy Bullcoming, Sherri Seger all of Elk City, her uncles Roy Dean Bullcoming of Seiling, James Miles of Hammon, Rhoda Bullcoming of Lame Deer Mt., Elaine Bird of Clinton, Cheryl Carter of Hobart, Mary Ann Miles of Hammon, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews, grandkids, and great grandkids.
