Lester Bruce Plumb "Bruce", age 82, of Yukon, OK, passed away on Monday, August 25, 2025, at the Clinton Veterans Home. He was born April 26, 1943, in El Centro, California to Ambrus Alfred and Willa Nel (Waddell) Plumb.
Bruce was raised in Tucson, Arizona, earning his GED with the United States Navy in 1962. Bruce enlisted in the United States Navy, proudly serving until 1963. He then continued his service in the United States Army from 1963 until 1971. Serving one tour in Vietnam.
On May 29,1974, Bruce married the love of his life, Heike D. (Busack).
Following his military service, he worked as a mechanic for Volkswagen while earning an Associate Degree in Applied Science Digital Electronics in 1983 from Pima Community College in Tucson. He went on to enjoy a successful career as an engineer for Xerox until 2000. Afterward, he joined the Snap-On Company, where he worked until his retirement in 2009.
Bruce's hobbies reflected his creativity and energy. He enjoyed cycling, woodworking, crafting stained glass and reading. He was also known for his love of coffee, which was always a part of his day.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Heike D. Plumb; his parents; sisters, Debbie Plumb, Judy Bell (Plumb), and Valerie Goss (Plumb); and his nephew, Tim Plumb.
Bruce is survived by his son, William Plumb and wife Kathryn of Yukon; brothers, Charles "Chuck" Plumb and wife Nancy of Colorado, Gary Plumb of Tucson, AZ, and Rick Plumb of Tucson, AZ; grandchildren, Sarah Briley (Kennett-Plumb) and husband Greg of Yukon, Aaron Plumb and wife Breanne of Oklahoma City, and Christian Plumb of Yukon; great-grandchildren, Wyatt, James, and Winnie; and several nieces and nephews. Bruce served his country with pride and honor.
In accordance with his wishes, he will be cremated. Services are under the direction of Lee Hometown Funeral Home.
