Louise WhiteEagle, age 82, of Hammon, Oklahoma, passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2026, in Oklahoma City. She was born on August 31, 1943, in Clinton, Oklahoma, to Pete and Martha (Swallow) Fingernail.

Louise was raised in the Whiteshield Camp north of Hammon and attended Hammon Public Schools, graduating from Hammon High School. She was married to John David WhiteEagle for more than 40 years and was a faithful member of the Hammon Indian Baptist Church.

A devoted servant to her community, Louise worked as a cook for Hammon Public Schools for 43 years. She took great pride in preparing meals for generations of children and was loved by many students and families throughout her years of service.

Louise was deeply rooted in her Cheyenne heritage and culture. She loved to pray, attend traditional dances and ceremonies, and participate in tribal activities. She was fluent in the Cheyenne language and took great pride in preserving and sharing her traditions.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Pete and Martha Fingernail; her daughter, Pamela Beaver; four sisters, Carol Joyce, Nadine, Christine, and Tonita; and one brother, Martin Fingernail.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Bruce Rogers and Patrick Beaver; her sister, Gloria St. Clair; numerous grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

A traditional wake service will be held from 7:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at the Hammon ERC Building.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 24, 2026, in the Hammon School Auditorium, with Mona Bearshield officiating. Burial will follow in the Hammon Mennonite Cemetery under the direction of Lee Hometown Funeral Home.
