Lynn “Rocky” Henry Schimmel

Lynn “Rocky” Henry Schimmel, age 68, of Arapaho, was born May 13, 1957, in Clinton, Oklahoma, to Leonard Henry and Thelma Olivia (Fimple) Schimmel, and passed away early Tuesday, October 7, 2025, in Clinton.

Rocky was raised in Arapaho and graduated from Arapaho High School in 1976. He proudly served for several years with the Arapaho Volunteer Fire Department. Over the years, he worked in various positions around Clinton, including with the Clinton Police Department, Southwest Distributing Company, Dolese Bros. Company, and also farmed in the Gotebo and Mountain View areas.

Rocky enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors. He will be remembered for his kind spirit and the many friendships he made throughout his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Thelma Schimmel, and his brother, Randall Schimmel.

He is survived by two brothers, Rob Schimmel of Hinton, and Ron Schimmel and wife Joyce of Clinton; nieces and nephews, Melinda Cabaniss and husband Rodney of Clinton, Michelle Kauk and husband Chris of Clinton, Eric Schimmel and wife Valerie of Hutto, Texas, Jessica Gass and husband J.P. of Clinton, and Emily Evans and husband Keith of Streetman, Texas; along with great-nieces and nephews, Grant Kauk, MacKenzie Kauk, Harlee Terry, Chase Terry, Dillon Schimmel, Emma Schimmel, Loren Coleman, Luke Coleman, and Brig Gass.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, October 10, 2025, in the Hyman Memorial Chapel at the Lee Hometown Funeral Home in Clinton. A private family burial will follow later at the Arapaho Cemetery. Services are under the direction of the Lee Hometown Funeral Home in Clinton.
