Maudie Ann Martin

December 28, 1940 — June 5, 2025

Sun City Center, Florida

Maudie Ann Martin, age 84, a former longtime resident of Clinton, Oklahoma, and most recently of Sun City Center, Florida, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 5, 2025, in Sun City Center. She was born December 28, 1940, in Clinton to Benjamin Arthur and Elva Mae (Alston) Petty.

Maudie was raised in Clinton and graduated from Clinton High School with the Class of 1959. On December 7, 1962, she married the love of her life, Johnny Martin, in a Clinton church, and together they built a beautiful life rooted in love, faith, and family.

She began her career with Southwestern Bell in Clinton and, through the years, transferred to Oklahoma City and later to Enid, Oklahoma, where she eventually retired. Throughout her life, Maudie remained a devoted member of the Elk Creek Primitive Baptist Church, a constant source of spiritual grounding for her and her family.

Quiet by nature, Maudie was known for her thoughtful presence—always paying attention, always caring. She found joy in reading, treasured time spent playing cards with friends, and held dear the simple, meaningful moments of life.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Johnny Martin; her parents; four sisters: Betty Pyeatt, Norene Kennedy, Doris Stanford, and Lorene Petty (who passed away in infancy); her grandson Chad Garman; and a nephew, Bob Hicks.

Maudie is survived by her loving daughter, Joneta Mullins and husband Travis of Lithia, Florida; three grandchildren: Chandra Robert and husband Brian of Satellite Beach, Florida, Ava Mullins of Lithia, Florida, and Mitchell Mullins of Florida.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, June 21, 2025, at the Hyman Memorial Chapel at Lee Hometown Funeral Home in Clinton, with Norman Jones officiating.
