Patti Ann Bowman, age 72, longtime Custer City resident, was born May 6, 1954, in Norman, Oklahoma, to Austin and Lorene (Wade) Mallory. She passed away peacefully on the morning of Friday, October 16, 2026, in her Custer City home, surrounded by her loving family.
Patti was raised in the Norman area and attended Washington Schools near Norman. Following high school, she moved to Blanchard, Oklahoma, where she began raising her family. After her first marriage ended in 1986, she moved to Chickasha, Oklahoma, where fate would lead her to the love of her life, Richard Bowman. The two first met at a local grocery store, of all places, in the meat department . What began as a chance encounter blossomed into a beautiful love story. Patti and Richard were married on March 3, 1990, in Chickasha.
In 1992, Patti and Richard moved to Moore, Oklahoma, where she worked for a title and abstract company. In 2003, they made the move to Custer City, the community Patti would proudly call home for the remainder of her life. Shortly after arriving, she began working at Southwest National Bank, where she became a familiar and friendly face to so many throughout the community. After many years of dedicated service, Patti retired in 2019.
Patti had a wonderful way of making everyone around her feel special. She was a woman whose smile could brighten a room and whose love knew no boundaries. If Patti knew you, she didn't just know your name; she knew your story, cared about your life, and before long, considered you part of her family. She loved deeply, laughed often, and never missed an opportunity to tell someone how much they meant to her. In fact, it was nearly impossible to leave her home or even walk out of a room without hearing her say, "I love you." Those three simple words were more than a habit for Patti; they were the way she lived her life.
She found happiness in life's simple pleasures. Patti loved working in her garden, watching the hummingbirds flutter around her yard, and enjoying the squirrels and other little creatures that visited. She and Richard enjoyed sitting together watching their favorite western, Gunsmoke, and taking trips to Branson, Missouri, making wonderful memories along the way.
But above everything else, Patti treasured her family. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy. She loved nothing more than spending time with them, sharing stories, making memories, and showering each one with the kind of unconditional love that only Patti could give. To her family, she was so much more than a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was their biggest supporter, their source of comfort, and the heart of so many family gatherings.
Patti will be remembered for her beautiful smile, her generous heart, her welcoming spirit, and the countless times she reminded those around her that they were loved. Although her family will miss her dearly, they will forever carry with them the warmth of her hugs, the sound of her laughter, and those familiar words, "I love you."
The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to Shepherd Home Health and especially nurses Andia Chavez, Sauna Hain, and Cindy Lee for the compassionate care, kindness, and support they provided Patti and her family.
Patti was preceded in death by her parents, Austin and Lorene Mallory; her infant sister, Carrie; and her son, Claude Wilson Jr.
She is survived by her loving husband, Richard Bowman, of the home; her daughters, Jennifer Ashley of Custer City, Tammy Mongold and her husband Mark of Yukon, Denise Pearcy and her husband Terry of Eakly, and Stacy Brawdy and her husband Jason of Stillwater; her son, David Bowman and his wife Tina of Perry, Oklahoma; her sister, Michelle Hillin and her husband John of Paoli, Oklahoma; and her brother, Jeff Mallory of Lindsay, Oklahoma.

Patti's life was a beautiful reminder that the greatest gift we can give one another is love. And if there is one thing her family and friends will always remember, it is that no one ever had to wonder whether Patti loved them. She made sure they knew.
