Paul Mitchell Huber

December 3, 1953 — May 20, 2026

A family visitation honoring the life of Paul Mitchell “Mitch” Huber, 72, former Custer City resident and longtime Oklahoma businessman, will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., Sunday, May 24, 2026, at Lee Hometown Funeral Home. Family and friends are invited to gather for a time of fellowship, hors d’oeuvres, storytelling, and sharing memories of Mitch’s life. Military Honors will be presented at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel.

Mitch was born on December 3, 1953, in Thomas, Oklahoma, to Paul Lawrence Huber and Sue (Yount) Huber. He passed away peacefully on May 20, 2026, at Integris Hospice House in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Raised in Custer City, Oklahoma, Mitch graduated from Custer City High School in 1972 before proudly serving his country in the United States Navy for four years. Following his honorable discharge, he settled in Oklahoma City, where he became a familiar face in the community as the owner and operator of Sherlock’s Night Club for more than three decades. In 1995, he married Tracy Stoecker in Oklahoma City. After closing Sherlock’s in 2008, Mitch began a career in trucking and continued working until his retirement during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ornery, mischievous, and always keeping people on their toes, he loved planning surprises and finding ways to bring a smile to someone’s face. He had a natural charm and a playful flirtatious streak that stayed with him throughout his life. Even in his final days, he could still be found charming nurses and joking with those around him. In his younger years, he enjoyed drag boat racing and the thrill of competition. He loved finding things to fix, taking things apart just to figure out how they worked, and tinkering with just about anything he could get his hands on. He was an excellent cook who never stopped chasing the perfect recipe, often making the same dish over and over until he felt he had finally gotten it just right. He also enjoyed following the stock market and was always eager to learn something new. A devoted Christian and faithful member of Life.Church, Mitch found comfort, purpose, and strength in his relationship with the Lord. His sense of humor, generosity, and love for others reflected the faith that guided him throughout his life.

While Mitch enjoyed many hobbies and adventures throughout his life, nothing compared to the love he had for his family. His daughters were his greatest pride, and becoming a grandfather brought him immeasurable joy. His granddaughters, Blakely and Hannah, were truly the lights of his life. Whether it was a trip to Walmart for a special surprise, a stop at McDonald’s for a treat, or proudly displaying every piece of artwork they created, “Gramps” made sure they always knew how loved they were.

He is survived by his daughters, Samantha Huber of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, and Sydney Tolbert and husband Andrew of Ardmore, Oklahoma; his beloved granddaughters, Blakely and Hannah; his sister, Marlyn Wilkins of Chesapeake, Virginia; and his brother, Jerry Mark Huber and wife Lisa of Weatherford, Oklahoma, along with numerous extended family members and dear friends who will miss him deeply.
