Peggy Ann Warnick Winstead, age 84, longtime Clinton area resident, was born February 14, 1942, in Clinton, Oklahoma, to William and Opal (Davis) Warnick. She passed away October 4, 2026, at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Her sons faithfully remained by her side from the time of the accident until her passing.
Peggy's family lived for a short time in Custer City before moving to Arapaho when she began school. At the age of nine, Peggy accepted Christ at the Custer City Baptist Church, beginning a lifelong faith that remained an important part of who she was.
Peggy married Simon Kreizenbeck in 1959, and to this union three children were born: Chris, Kevin, and Keitha. She later married Tim Winstead, and Melissa and Rhinda Winstead became part of her family.
Peggy worked as a bookkeeper throughout her life. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Clinton and dearly loved attending church and spending time with her church family and friends. At home, Peggy enjoyed the companionship of her cats, which held a special place in her heart.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Opal Warnick; her husband, Tim Winstead; her daughter, Keitha Morris; her brother, Bill Warnick and his wife, Opal; her nephew, Kirk Warnick; and her daughter-in-law, Charlotte Kreizenbeck, whom Peggy lovingly cared for during Charlotte's illness.
Peggy is survived by her sons, Chris Kreizenbeck and his wife, Barbara, of Clinton, and Kevin Kreizenbeck and his wife, Katherine, of Arapaho; Melissa Oakley of Huntsville, Texas; and Rhinda Killian of Montana. She is also survived by her grandchildren and their spouses, Terry Lynn Barger and Rex, Rusty Kreizenbeck and Nicola, Cody Kreizenbeck and Courtney, Dustin Kreizenbeck and Caralea, Darci Wall and Johnny, Amanda Watson, and James Williams and Natalie; 17 great-grandchildren; her nephew, Gary Warnick and his wife, Donna, of Clinton; as well as numerous extended family members and friends.
Memorial services for Peggy will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, October 12, 2026, at the First Baptist Church of Clinton, with Rev. Kent Jaggers officiating, under the direction of the Lee Hometown Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the First Baptist Church of Clinton or to the charity of your choice.
