IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Phyllis Raye
Hook
November 1, 1945 – February 6, 2026
Phyllis Raye Kolb Hook, affectionately called “Momo” by her family, age 80, of Clinton, Oklahoma, passed away on February 6, 2026, at River Valley Skilled Nursing and Therapy in Clinton.
Phyllis was born on November 1, 1945, in Clinton, Oklahoma, where she was raised and attended Clinton Schools, graduating with the Class of 1963. In 1965, she married Terryll Hook. Becoming a mother was one of the greatest joys of her life, and she poured her heart into raising her three sons.
For many years, Phyllis devoted herself to being a homemaker. In the early 1980s, she entered the workforce, first working at Gibson’s, then at Payless Department Store, and later joining C.R. Anthony Company, where she remained until its closing. She then continued her career with Dollar General, staying there until her retirement.
In 2020, Phyllis moved from Arapaho to Forrest Lane in Clinton. There she found a warm community of dear friends and spent her days sharing her faith and witnessing for Jesus Christ — something that brought her deep joy and purpose. She was a longtime member of the Free Will Baptist Church, where she taught Junior High and High School Sunday School in the early 1980s.
Phyllis was a true “Prayer Warrior.” She loved the Lord deeply and served Him faithfully throughout her life. One of her greatest ministries was praying for others — family, friends, and even people she barely knew. She prayed with passion, conviction, and a genuine belief that God heard every word. A hymn especially dear to her heart was “The Old Rugged Cross.” She loved hearing it sung at church, especially when Russell Rayner would sing it with such power and emotion. Moments like those stayed with her throughout her life and reflected the depth of her faith.
Phyllis also found joy in the simple, meaningful parts of life. She loved going to church, reading her Bible, and spending time outdoors working in her yard. She enjoyed visiting with family, friends, and neighbors, always ready for a good conversation or a chance to encourage someone. She also had a well‑known sweet tooth, and for those who truly knew her, her love for Coca‑Cola was unmistakable — a small delight that never failed to make her smile. She especially treasured her trips to Charleston, South Carolina, where she loved seeing the sights and spending time with her son Bryan and his family.
Above all, Phyllis cherished her family. Her three sons, her grandchildren, and her great‑grandchildren were the light of her life, and she loved each of them fiercely.
She is survived by:
