Robert “Bob” King
Robert “Bob” King passed away on April 22, 2026, at Baywood Crossing in Houston, Texas. He was 88 years old.
Bob was born on May 19, 1937, in Arapaho, Oklahoma, the sixth child of Bill and Lydia King. He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Virginia, Margaret, Billie, Jeff, and Alice; their spouses; and several nieces and nephews. He is survived by many nieces and nephews, along with their children and grandchildren.
Bob spent most of his life in Arapaho before moving to Clinton in 1977 when his father became ill. During his father’s illness and after his passing, Bob provided unwavering emotional support, companionship, and care for his mother. In 2018, he moved to Houston so his niece and her husband could assist with his care.
Bob enjoyed the simple pleasures of life — cherry pie topped with vanilla ice cream, western movies, and sports, especially Oklahoma State football. He was an avid gardener and fisherman, and family gatherings were often made better by the fruits of his labor. Around Arapaho and Clinton, Bob was well known and well liked, frequently attending local high school sporting events and visiting with friends and neighbors.
He was blessed throughout his life by the kindness and support of many in the community, especially his dear cousin, Wilma Parr. In his later years at the nursing home, Bob became a favorite among the staff, who appreciated his gentle spirit and friendly nature.
A graveside memorial service will be held at Arapaho Cemetery on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at 12:30 p.m. under the direction of the Lee Hometown Funeral Home
