Sue Gorshing

Jan 2, 1941 — Jul 21, 2026

Clinton, Oklahoma

Donna Sue "Sue" Gorshing, age 85, a lifelong Clinton resident, was born on January 2, 1941, in Cordell, Oklahoma, to Don and Henryetta (Dunaway) Duncan. She peacefully passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, in Weatherford, Oklahoma.

Sue was raised in Clinton and graduated from Clinton High School with the Class of 1959. On October 8, 1960, she married the love of her life, Larry Gorshing, in Cheyenne, Oklahoma. Together they built a life centered on love, family, and lasting memories.

Sue dedicated many years of service to Collins & Aikman in Clinton, where she worked until her retirement. Never one to stay idle, she later spent the next 15 years working at Café Clinton, where she became a familiar face to countless customers and friends. She especially enjoyed visiting with the ladies from the local bridge club as they gathered at the café, and her warm smile and friendly conversations made everyone feel welcome.

A devoted homemaker, Sue found her greatest joy in caring for those she loved. She enjoyed scrapbooking, preserving precious family memories, and in her younger years loved taking camping trips with her family. She was a lifelong fan of classic westerns, especially anything starring John Wayne. Sue also had a love for dressing up, and she took special delight in dressing her grandchildren, creating memories they will always cherish. She genuinely loved people and never met a stranger.

The family extends their heartfelt appreciation to the compassionate caregivers of Shepherd Home Health and Oxford Springs Living Center in Weatherford for the exceptional care, kindness, and support they provided to Sue during her final days.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Don and Henryetta Duncan, and her sister, Carol Duncan.

She is lovingly survived by her husband of nearly 66 years, Larry Gorshing, of their home in Clinton; her son, Lee Gorshing of Arapaho; her grandchildren, Kalea Gorshing and Jacob Gorshing, both of Norman; and her two great-grandchildren, Julian and Orian Gorshing, also of Norman. She also leaves behind many extended family members and dear friends who will cherish her memory.

Private family graveside services will be held at Arapaho Cemetery under the direction of Lee Hometown Funeral Home.
