Tomas Marquez Arias

Tomas Marquez Arias, age 61, of Clinton, Oklahoma, was born December 21, 1964, in Colima, Mexico, to Agustin and Ines (Arias) Marquez. He passed away on March 30, 2026, at River Valley Nursing Center in Clinton.

Tomas was raised in Mexico, where he completed his education and graduated from high school. In 1984, he moved to Los Angeles, California, where he worked as a baker in a donut shop. He remained in California until 2008, when he relocated to Clinton, Oklahoma. From 2009 to 2021, Tomas was employed at Bar-S Foods in Clinton. In 2021, he moved to Wichita, Kansas, where he worked at the Dold Food Plant until early 2026, when declining health brought him back closer to family.

On July 15, 1993, Tomas married the love of his life, Maria Alicia Ruiz, in Mexico. He was a devoted member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Tomas enjoyed playing Pac-Man, spending time with his granddaughters, and watching soccer. His favorite team was Club América.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Agustin and Ines Marquez.

He is survived by his loving wife, Maria Marquez of the home; two daughters, Mayte Marquez and her husband Juan of Clinton, and Seidy Marquez of Clinton; three sisters, Maria de Jesus Guizar, Beatriz Romero, and Rafaela Marquez, all of Mexico; two brothers, Felipe Marquez and his wife Lilia, and Agustin Marquez Jr. and his wife Griselda Pastor, also of Mexico; and three granddaughters, Evelyn Acevedo, Elaina Acevedo, and Emerie Acevedo, all of Clinton.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 6, 2026, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. A Rosary service will be held at 6:00 p.m., Sunday, April 5, 2026, in the Hyman Memorial Chapel at Lee Hometown Funeral Home. Services are under the direction of Lee Hometown Funeral Home.
