Vaudie Ellis Ringo, a beloved member of the community and a dedicated family man, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2025, at the Homestead of Clinton retirement center. He was born on July 4, 1939, in Dill City, Oklahoma, where he also graduated from high school.
Throughout his life, Vaudie was known for his unwavering work ethic and commitment to his responsibilities. He played a significant role in the construction of the Foss Lake Dam and later joined the Oklahoma Department of Transportation (O.D.O.T.), where he dedicated many years before retiring. A man of remarkable resilience, he often juggled multiple jobs, including working at a service station after his full-time role.
Vaudie's personality shone brightly in every interaction; he was always smiling and had a heart of gold. He was not only a diligent worker but also an avid walker, finding joy and solace in nature through his faithful walking routines. His interests extended beyond walking; he enjoyed fishing, watching television, and sharing joyous moments dancing with his late wife, Emma "Jane" Ringo. Additionally, Vaudie had a passion for motorcycles, which brought him thrill and adventure in life.
He is survived by his loving family, which includes his son Rory Ringo, stepson Tony Eddy, daughter Natasha Ringo, stepdaughters Tina Hernandez and her husband Joe, and Brandy Haley. Vaudie also is remembered fondly by his sister Nova Kay and brothers LeRoy Ringo, Von Joe Ringo, and LeVoy Ringo, his daughter in law Vanessa Ringo. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Pepper Hernandez, Joseph Hernandez, Morgan Henderson, Emmerson Haley, Carson Haley, Sebastian Ringo, and Katie Stewart along with her husband Michael and Kenna Ringo with her husband Cole Spencer.
Vaudie is preceded in death by his parents, Claude Ringo and Reba (Fletcher) Ringo, his wife Emma "Jane" Ringo, his son Kip Ringo, a sister Joyce Ringo Williams and his grandparents, Walter Ellis and Josephine Ringo, who raised him with love and care.
A memorial service will be held in his honor on August 4, 2025, at Lee Hometown Funeral Home in Clinton, Oklahoma. The service will begin at 10:00 AM with Jerry Douglas officiating. Services are under the direction of the Lee Hometown Funeral Home
Vaudie Ellis Ringo will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his spirit will live on in the memories of the family and friends he cherished.
