William Dennis Johnson

William Dennis Johnson, 41, of Cortez, Colorado, will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at the Emergency Resource Center in Hammon, Oklahoma, officiated by Darwin Whiteman. Burial will follow in the Hammon Indian Mennonite Cemetery under the direction of Lee Hometown Funeral Home.

A traditional all-night Wake Service will be held at 7:00 AM, Wednesday, April 1, 2026, in the Hammon Emergency Resource Center.

William Dennis Johnson was born on January 29, 1985, in Clinton, Oklahoma, to Christopher Johnson and Terry Whiteman. He was raised in both Hammon, Oklahoma, and Towaoc, Colorado.

He was a proud of his Indian Heritage and a member of the Cheyenne-Arapaho Tribes of Oklahoma.

William was employed at a manufacturing company in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and worked for Ute Casinos. In his spare time, he enjoyed drawing and specialized in graffiti art. He loved music and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.

He was preceded in death by his father, Christopher Johnson.

He is survived by his mother, Terri Whiteman; his son, Cainaan Johnson; his four daughters, Leah Johnson, Aubri’ Lyn Johnson, Allison Johnson, and X’Zavalee Johnson; his sister, Chrystal Johnson of Towaoc, Colorado; his brother, Christian Johnson of Durango, Colorado; and his maternal grandmother, Emily Whiteman of Towaoc, Colorado.
